HDC approval Tuesday September 3, 2002. Second time worked a charm and we got approval subject to changing the front door to a one over one (single pane windows on either side) and the sliding doors leading from the main bedroom onto the deck replaced with french doors. SIMPLE!!!!

Now its on to the building department...

..Oops big problems - the garage will not fit the cars due to the trees being in the way - October 5th, 2002

Problem fixed, garages are now facing northeast, on to the building department.

Permit # 140-03 fee $3070.00 ouch...

work needs to start within 6months!!!

BUT NOW 04/10/03 ...the Conservation Commission Permit has EXPIRED!!  so it's back to re-applying and wait...wait...wait... UPDATE!! FILED....5/16/03

SITE Inspection ..of course what day does the commission choose??? the end of a rainy set of days OF COURSE! site inspected Friday 23 May when the "duck pond" was full to overflowing, can I pack my bags for TEXAS please???

 

Above are the wetland boundaries - the source of all our problems ...hold thumbs for the 28th when we go before the commission, then 20 days to wait to see if anyone objects...then BUILDING hopefully!!!

5/28/03  WELL SURPRISE!!! with everyone in agreement the commission voted and approved the Giffin building plan. So now we have our WPA Form 5 issued 5/30/03

4)throw the slab and basement 4)Wednesday, August 6 - 16 no slab, just footings and basement walls
5)start framing, windows, doors 5)   started 18 August, sills, beams, ground floor deck + walls
6)roofing, trim, porches,decks 6)   first floor decking + walls   6 September
7)shingles 7)   framer  finished Oct 30, 2003 (took 11 weeks)
8)interior, bathrooms, kitchen 8)   Both new + old house roof shingled  Nov 3, 2003 (5 days)
9)floors, plastering, tiling, finish carpentry 9) Side wall shingling started thurs Nov 20-21 +25th finished
10) trim on windows
The BIG FREEZE is here so all work has to halt! January 17, 2004
11) Garage floor concrete completed April 16, 2004
12) Wait for garage doors to be delivered PLUS cedar tongue and groove
13) The perimeter is secure!! Garage doors are installed May 1, 2004
